Cambodia Day 4 - Foreign Friends and the Big Temple Circuit

4 April 2017 Day four would be a significant diversion from the previous 3.  I would be joining a group.  There was a family of 4 Brits, and then two men, one Spanish and other English.  The British family was hilariously concerned about slowing down the group and the other two fellas were beginning a 12 day trip across Cambodia.  It was great to have some company to share the end of the journey with.  We started with a lot of single track and dense vegetation to get to the back of the temple.  I'm so thankful that I've been mountain biking a bit so I didn't have the grip of terror on my handlebars.  I could run those paths all day! We started with Ta Phrom.  It is iconic for the trees that have grown around and through the ruins.  It was busy, but amazing. Cambodia Day 3 - Village Friends, Road Hazards, and Jungle Mysteries

3 April 2017 By the third day in Cambodia, I had my routines, had my paths to walk at night and was quite settled in.  There is a crossover point when in a new place where you've figured out how to cross the street safely, where to shop for basics and what the sounds around you mean. We started the day rolling through miles and miles of villages.  On well worn dirt roads and path, past homes with hammocks swinging underneath in the cool shade and past dozens of children that would rush out to practice their "hellos."  Being in the midst of day to day life got us in the path of some hilarious road hazards.  In the course of an hour, Heng and I encountered, super aggressive dog chases, water buffaloes crossing the road unexpectedly and a rice sack falling off of a truck right in front of us.  Adrenaline dumps were constant as was the grin on my face.  Thank goodness for quality riding skills and a laid back attitude!
