Annual Sugar on the Floor Float - Mom's on the River

I'm blessed with a lot of mothers, but I have three in particular that are also adventure companions, encouragers, sounding boards, chefs, musicians and so much more.  This weekend, we took on a leisurely float with outfitting fit for queens.  There was so much laughing that ribs hurt, naps and reading time, epic meals on the river side and a Buffalo River morning that rivals any morning anywhere.  It wouldn't do justice to put words to it, but I would only encourage you to look at the photos and dream of your own adventures, then make them happen.

Pre-float prep recommendations: popcorn, cupcakes, Cards Against Humanity (so many gasps) and laughing, lots of laughing.

    You ladies, and I do mean ladies, obviously had a fun adventure. And although I might be just a little biased..... Any adventure planned by my sweeeet Lindi, is most always guaranteed to be a fun time that will be remembered as well as talked about by all involved. And by talked about, I am sure that my Kiddo has, from time to time, tested my 63 year old limits to the max, wait, TO THE MAX..!!!! I am jealous to not be there but always look forward to any upcoming future adventures.. Looking good ladies..!!

Going home is always a complex experience.  There is the family component, favorite restaurants, favorite adventures and friends all along the way.  I took my traveling Gypsy to Oklahoma to see all of it.  We missed out of the friends component, but went hard on food and adventure. Buffalo River Journey - Two Fierce Women and a Dog

It is safe to say, this was a new level of trip for me.  It is easy to hire a tour guide, rent gear and go explore the world, but to figure out a self-sufficient, 9 day float on your own was a great escalation.  I originally planned on doing it solo, but the what-ifs of what could go wrong were daunting. Mentioning it casually to a friend of mine, she was all in.  So that is how it began, Lindi, Tonya and Sisco the adventure dog. Who's excited about Hardee's and the Buffalo River?! Glory Hole Hike - Yelling at Frogs and Other Adventures

When you step outside and see snowflakes, in April, before a hike you were already emotionally struggling with on account of the cold and being social, the best thing that can happen is that someone grabs your hand, shoves you towards the car and sudden there you are, heading towards the trail head .   The elk were up and about.  No cold will keep those fluffy behinds from grazing!
